Wishing the England Youth, Ladies and Mens and all the other countries the very best in the World Cup which commences on Thursday 11 October in Holland.

There will be coverage on Eurosport on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October as well as internet streaming by courtesy of from Wednesday 10 October.

New ITV1 show to pit celebrities against each other in

This Autumn, ITV1 will take celebrities out of their comfort zone to compete against each other in a brand new series. Don’t Call Me Stupid will pitch two celebrities together as they each learn the others own specialist subjects in preparation for a unique head-to-head quiz.

Each week, the celebrities will reveal their personal passion, so expect everything from Fishing and Cricket to Royal Etiquette and the Manchester Music Scene!

It’s then down to each of them to learn everything they can about their respective subjects from their partner before they meet again in a tense studio head-to head showdown. Imagine you’re George Galloway and you have a few days to learn how to ride a horse or you’re Germaine Greer and you need to know your spanner from a jack.

Actor and Comedian, Alexander Armstong will host the series and the celebrity pairings and the subjects they’re learning are;

  • George Galloway (Equestrian Horse Riding) and Lady Victoria Hervey (History of the Labour Movement)
  • Germaine Greer (Car Mechanics) and Shayne Lynch (Wild Flowers of Essex)
  • Francis Fulford (Geordie Culture) and Michelle Heaton (The Battle of Hastings)
  • Vanessa Feltz (Fishing) and Bobby George (Chaucer Tales)
  • James Whitaker (Manchester Music Scene) and Bez (Royal Etiquette)
  • Brian Sewell (Cricket) and Phil Tufnell (16/17th Century Art)

“We couldn’t resist bringing very different celebrities together - and this time we hope they learn something!” says Layla Smith, Controller of Alternative Programmes

Don’t Call Me Stupid has been commissioned by Layla Smith, ITV's Controller of Alternative Programmes and is an ITV Television Production.

Don’t Call Me Stupid is exclusive to ITV1 and airs Autumn 2007.

‘WHAT RAISES YOURS?’ is an innovative new health campaign targeting 35 – 60 year old men in Southwark and Lambeth. The aim is to raise awareness of the dangers of high blood pressure and encourage those at risk to get their blood pressure checked. The campaign was launched in April, and will compromise a variety of PR and partnership initiatives across the boroughs. While there is a serious message to be heard, it will move away from the usual style of health campaign, and will feature a more risqué and cheeky approach to reaching the key audience. ).

The Modernisation Initiative is a three year programme, funded by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, to significantly improve health care in Lambeth and Southwark. The programme is focusing on three key areas: kidney disease, sexual health and stroke services.

To help reach local men living in the two boroughs, we are keen to engage the support of a well-respected personality who resonates well with this target audience. The celebrity would ideally personify the lighter side to the campaign while also coming from a sporting background, and have an interest in the importance of health; so for these reasons we believe Bobby George is the perfect person to help support the campaign.

Bobby attended the launch day in Southwark Park, london on 22 April and said -

“Since taking part in ‘Celebrity Fit Club’ I’ve come to realise how important it is to look after your health. Men my age really need to be made more aware of their own blood pressure score and just how easy it is to get it checked out by your local doctor”

Bobby will be one of the contestants on the pub games episode of the Weakest Link this Saturday 20th January at 6.40pm on BBC1.

Sports Minister Richard Caborn enjoyed Lakeside so much - particularly playing 'A Leg With Bobby' in front of a packed Lakeside audience (nicknamed 'The Sheffield Steeler') that his Press Secretary sent the following message to the BDO:

"The Minister had an excellent night. And that was quite a final. Most exciting night of sport I've watched in a long time.

"Congratulations on another excellent tournament."

During the week, Bobby also played his popular 'Leg With Bobby' on BBC with Jethro, two members of The Kaiser Chiefs, whose hit single 'I Predict A Riot' went down extremely well with the Lakeside crowd, and Patrick Chaplin, who is now a Professor of Darts.

But best of all was the legendary Engelbert Humperdinck playing Bobby at George Hall. He was supposed to spend a couple of hours filming but enjoyed himself so much that he stayed all day!

"I enjoyed playing them all - especially the Sports Minister - but Engelbert is definitely the best celebrity darts player I have ever met. Never mind 'The Last Waltz' he had 'The Last Dart' with me!"

Other celebrities at Lakeside included snooker World Champion Mark Williams, former Glasgow Rangers player Andy Goram, cast members from Eastenders and a number of Water Rats, including guitar legend Bert Weedon.

Lakeside proprietor Bob Potter is a proud member of the Water Rats, an elite showbiz organisation which works tirelessly for charity.

Englebert Humperdinck visited George Hall for a game of darts with Bobby which has been filmed and will be shown during the Lakeside World Darts championships from 6th - 14th January 2007 on BBC2. Bobby said "Inck can certainly play darts better than I can sing"!!

The non-darting husband, wife, friend, girlfriend or family don't have to be bored in Lloret de Mar. They can participate on lots of excursions, for example a bus trip to Barcelona or relax on the beautiful beaches of Lloret de Mar.

But there is more under the sun in 2007

Go with Bobby George and Martin Adams to Turkey in november 2007. It's the same formula as Lloret de Mar. A week with darts, holiday and entertainment. We stay in the 5-star resort, Orange County in Kemer, on the ultra inclusive (food and drinks) formula. This resort is a copy of Amsterdam. We promise you all that we will have an incredible dartsweek in Turkey.
